As part of the Mercyhealth Revenue Cycle team, our Patient Access partners represent the first line of customer engagement and service. Patient Access includes Hospital Registrars, Clinic and Hospital Registration Specialists, Patient Financial Counselors (PFC), Precertification Specialists, and Referral Specialists.
These positions service a number of duties and tasks including patient intake and registration, payment plan creation and facilitation, insurance pre-certification and payment, and coordination and payment for specialty services and care. Each of these positions is responsible for ensuring the highest quality of patient experience post-service and care actively works to facilitate payment and reimbursement structures that are mutually beneficial to the patient and the organization.
